I started my morning by attending a press conference at Canadian Valley Technology Center, a local community college with an aviation program. It appears the facility will be considered a complete loss, though that is yet to be determined.

A few employees were still on campus, and one evening class was in session. Staff and students were able to escape to a safe room (I believe in the basement, but don’t remember for sure) as the storm passed overhead.

While I had down time at the press conference my eyes were drawn to this Dodge Ram in the parking lot. I couldn’t take my eyes off of it.

It reminds me of home.

My Utah home - the place where I was born and raised.

Everyone in my small Utah town drives big trucks. And Milwaukee doesn’t have a lot of trucks - so it’s been awhile since I’ve seen anything larger than an SUV.

You can see the damage for yourself.

And now I know… staying in your car may not always be the best idea… if a tornado is coming through.
